Erika Slezak Mourns the Death of Her Daughter Amanda

Please join us in sending love to beloved daytime star Erika Slezak (Viki, ONE LIFE TO LIVE), who is mourning the death of her daughter, Amanda, at the age of 42. The sad news was shared in a brief post on the actress’ official website. “It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Erika’s daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Davies, who died very suddenly,” it reads. “The family is heartbroken and would appreciate privacy at this time.”

Slezak became a soap star when she took over the role of Victoria “Viki” Lord on OLTL in 1971. Over her decades on the show, she earned a record number of six Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress (from nine nominations). And in 2003, work became a family business when Amanda played her mother’s character in flashback scenes on the show.

Slezak and her husband, actor Brian Davies, also have a son, Michael. Our thoughts are with the actress and her entire family during this very difficult time.
