Actor Clint Howard has been performing since 1962 when he debuted in episodes of THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW (which starred his big brother, Ron Howard), but shooting his guest appearance on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL was still quite a challenge!

“You’re handed a lot of scenes to do and you’d better be prepared,” he told People. “I was taught by both my mom and dad, Rance and Jean Howard, since I was a little kid that my primary responsibility is to be prepared to show up to work, even as a very young child… And then knowing that soap operas, it’s possible to get handed boatloads of dialogue and you’ve got to learn it. You’ve got to understand it. You’ve got to be able to deliver it. You’ve got to be light on your feet.”

Howard will be playing a homeless man named Tom in scenes with Sean Kanan’s Deacon and Tanner Novlan’s Finn on Friday, April 26, and Monday, April 29. “There was this homeless guy that the team over at B&B has invented,” he joked. “They looked at me and they said, ‘homeless guy.’”

Howard has hundreds of acting credits across film and television, but B&B is actually not his daytime debut. Back in 1987, he played an orderly named Marshall on the NBC soap SANTA BARBARA.

Now that Deacon is convinced that Sheila is still alive, he and Finn are obviously going to try and locate her, wherever she’s hiding. And Howard’s character of Tom might just hold some crucial information that could lead them to the presumed-dead woman. But if the lead doesn’t pan out, Howard did tease that his character could pop back for more in future shows. Stay tuned!
