Could Pierson Fodé Be the Next Superman?

Tags:

Superhero filmmaker James Gunn is currently searching for the next Man of Steel to headline his upcoming Superman: Legacy movie from Warner Bros. — and one of the potential contenders has a soap opera connection! According to a new report in Variety, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s former Thomas, Pierson Fodé, may be in the running for the coveted role of the iconic superhero!

Reporter Marc Malkin shares that he spoke with Gunn back in April about what the writer/director was looking for in his leading man, and Gunn confessed to having “some really great choices, which I’m excited about.”

Although Gunn never confirmed that Fodé was on his short list, Malkin states that he heard the 31-year-old actor “sent in a self-tape, which included a montage of footage showing his very Clark Kent-like childhood on a farm in the small town of Moses Lake, WA. I’m told Gunn liked what he saw.”

It’s not clear if the video above that Fodé shared on Instagram is the same one that he sent to DC Studios (the studio behind Superman: Legacy), but he’s definitely giving off some Clark Kent vibes as he helps his dad with chores around the family farm!

Fodé took over the role of B&B’s Thomas Forrester in 2015, earning two Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Younger Actor during his run. After exiting the soap in 2018, Fodé went on to make several primetime appearances in shows like DYNASTY, TACOMA FD, ANIMAL KINGDOM, and even SUPERGIRL. He’s also found success in film, starring in movies like The Man from Toronto opposite Woody Harrelson and Kevin Hart. Fodé can next be seen in BASED ON A TRUE STORY, a dark comedy series starring Kaley Cuoco that will stream on Peacock starting June 8.

Neither Gunn nor DC Studios have commented on the Variety story. Time will tell if Fodé will be the actor donning Clark Kent’s glasses and Superman’s cape for the highly anticipated superhero movie!
