B&B’s Darin Brooks is “Super Excited” About His New Series!
One man’s loss is another man’s gain — especially in the case of Free Guy actor Ryan Reynolds, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL star Darin Brooks (Wyatt), and the Croods, an animated prehistoric family! Starting Sept. 23, THE CROODS: FAMILY TREE animated series will premiere on Hulu and Peacock, and the B&B star will be taking over the role of Guy from Reynolds, who voiced the character in DreamWorks’ two big-screen movies, 2013’s The Croods and the 2020 sequel, The Croods: A New Age.
“So, I’m super excited to announce this!” Brooks shared on Instagram once the six-episode animated series was officially announced. “It’s been months in the making and so many recordings from [my wife] Kelly Kruger’s walk-in closet, I’m beginning to think I live in there.”
THE CROODS: FAMILY TREE picks up where A New Age left off and follows the Neanderthal family and the more evolved Bettermans as the rivals-turned-friends learn to live together on a farm and overcome their differences while sharing one big treehouse. “It’s such an amazingly talented cast! These voiceover pros are so funny! The writers, producers, animators, and all the crew are wildly talented and [I] am just so blessed that they let me be a part of it.”
As Brooks gave a shout-out to the executives involved in the series, he also personally thanked Reynolds for having a super-busy schedule between promoting his latest movie and marketing his gin liquor. “Oh! And thank you Ryan Reynolds for being way too busy Freeing Guy and drinking too much Aviation Gin to be able to do this!”
