Darin Brooks and Kelly Kruger Celebrate Their Anniversary!

Tags:

Six years down, and a million more to go! Real-life soap couple Darin Brooks (Wyatt, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) and Kelly Kruger (Eva, B&B; ex-Mac, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) celebrated six years of wedded bliss on March 20! But there was no fancy dinner for this couple in a five-star Michelin restaurant. Instead, the Brookses hit up their local park for a sushi picnic with their young daughters, Everleigh, 2, and newborn Gemma, almost two months old, as the Mrs. shared in an Instagram story.

The couple — who met while filming the college comedy BLUE MOUNTAIN STATE back in 2010 — also each took a moment out of their day to wish their spouse a happy anniversary on social media. And we’re honestly not sure whether Brooks or Kruger had a sappier post! “Six years? Six years! Happy sixth anniversary, Babe!” Brooks wrote in his Instagram post. “I don’t know how we got here. I always say, time flies when you’re having fun. And honestly, that’s exactly what we’ve been doing.”

Continuing his cheerful post, Brooks praised his wife for making him a dad. “You are my best friend! My partner in crime! You are the best mother and gave me my two absolutely beautiful daughters. And I say “gave” because you did all the work,” he wrote, adding that he hoped he “helped” by providing Kruger with foot rubs and indulging her ice cream and sushi cravings while she was pregnant. “I love you. I love them. I love our little family, including our [dog] Chance. “And I can’t think of anyone better to be going through this journey with than you! Love you, Boops.”

Kruger, meanwhile, got a tad more emotional with her heartfelt post. “To me, marriage is when two very different people from most likely two very different backgrounds and upbringings come together and become one unit,” she wrote, explaining that a successful marriage takes a lot of work when it comes to making compromises, being selfless, and knowing when to admit that you’ve been wrong. “It’s taking a look at yourself and getting rid of things that don’t work for you as a couple. It’s about really stepping up and being your best self. It’s about supporting each other and always lifting each other up.”

Acknowledging that being married comes with both good times and bad, Kruger added that those shared experiences hopefully bring spouses together and help them grow together as one. “Nothing, and I mean nothing, is perfect but that’s what makes everything more beautiful and meaningful,” she added. “Happy six-year anniversary to the man who has brought so much to my life. Happiness, tons of laughter, lots of lessons, and growth. And who’s given me my greatest gifts; our two girls. (Of course, Chance, too) You’re always my best friend first and I still get the same butterflies I got from day one. Love you, babe!”

To accompany his Instagram post, Brooks shared a montage of photos showcasing the timeline of the couple’s relationship — including their Parisian engagement, wedding, baby shower, and when they welcomed each of their daughters — set to the tune of Train’s “Marry Me.” Over on Kruger’s page, meanwhile, she posted a similar montage of her own favorite moments from their years together set to the instrumental song “Little Things” by Adrian Berenguer.

Please join us in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Brooks a very happy anniversary!
