Darin Brooks and Kelly Kruger Welcome Their Second Child!
She’s here! Real-life soap couple Darin Brooks (Wyatt, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) and his wife, Kelly Kruger (ex-Eva, B&B; ex-Mackenzie, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) are officially the parents of two! As first reported by People, Kruger gave birth to their second child, a daughter they named Gemma Wynter, on Jan. 29. The newborn weighed in at 9 lbs., 13 oz., and measured 21 inches long.
Brooks and Kruger each announced the joyous news in Instagram posts, sharing an intimate black and white photo taken moments after Gemma’s birth of Mom cradling the newborn while Dad gives his beautiful wife a kiss. “Welcome to the world, baby #2: our li’l Gemma Wynter Brooks!” the B&B star wrote. “Thank you to Kelly, the rockstar, for letting me have another one with you (so glad this one takes after you, too).”
The Brookses announced in August that their daughter Everleigh Jolie, 2, would be a big sister — and after just a few days, she’s taken quite well to the role! “Everleigh helped pick her name, and is already the best big sister,” gushed Kruger in her post. “Watching these two together makes me cry.”
Kruger added that little Gemma was scheduled to arrive earlier in January. “She came past her due date, after I told her I was cutting off all power and electricity,” the Y&R alum joked, adding that she would gladly give her husband 10 more children. With one caveat. “Just please make them a little smaller next time, okay? This tiny body can’t handle it!”
In preparation for their growing family, Brooks and Kruger moved to a bigger house last summer. And in the midst of his wife’s pregnancy and settling into their new home, Brooks was also commuting from Los Angeles to Utah to work on the AppleTV+ series AMBER BROWN. “Thank you to all our family and friends who have helped us through the crazy process of having a baby during a pandemic,” he said. “Love you all! And please join me in welcoming this little Gem and badass #3 (K, E, and now G) into the world!
“Oh, and yes… Now I’m severely outnumbered,” he concluded, proudly adding the hashtag #girldad to his post. Congratulations to the Brooks family on their new addition! We can’t wait to see little Gemma grow up alongside her big sister!
