B&B’s Jacqueline MacInnes Wood Says Goodbye to Tanner Novlan

Tags:

Fans were shocked when Finn was killed off on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, and actress Jacqueline MacInnes Wood admitted that she was also stunned when she learned how the soap would be writing out her co-star and TV husband, Tanner Novlan.

“It was bittersweet news,” Wood confessed to Soap Opera Digest. “On one hand, the drama of it all is fantastic! A shout out to [executive producer/headwriter] Brad [Bell] and the writing team on this one. It’s a fantastic twist. But it also means that a colleague, amazing screen partner, and friend would be leaving.”

Novlan joined the cast of B&B back in July 2020, and as Finn’s love story with Steffy took off the chemistry between him and Wood made the pairing very popular with fans. Novlan also proved popular with his co-star. “Tanner is the absolute best,” Wood enthused. “He’s an all-around great guy and we have so much in common. First and foremost, he’s a fellow Canadian. So that’s a win! He was starting his family with Kayla [Ewell, ex-Caitlin] and I was starting mine with [my husband] Elan.

“And as a screen partner, he gave everything he had,” she continued. “It was a delight to work with him and I hope we get to work together in the future.’”

Not only will Wood miss working with her handsome and talented co-star, but she will miss what his character brought to the canvas. “I loved the Steffy and Finn romance,” she said. “When Brad brought Tanner on board, everyone was excited that the Steffy, Liam, and Hope triangle would take a break.”

Unfortunately, now that she’s woken up after being shot, Steffy’s amnesia means she has no memories of Finn or their son, Hayes, and actually still believes she’s married to Liam! So it looks as though the Steffy/Liam/Hope triangle is coming back… with a new wrinkle! Stay tuned to see what happens next!
