Kimberlin Brown on Her Surprising Return to B&B!
Ever since Deacon saw those 10 toes it was only a matter of time before Sheila was back on The Bold & The Beautiful! Given how many times the villainess has cheated death in the past, longtime fans were naturally skeptical that Steffy had really killed Sheila in self-defense that dark and stormy night. And sure enough, in the April 29 episode of the soap, Finn and Deacon discovered that Sheila was still alive!
Although the majority of viewers weren’t surprised that Sheila hadn’t really died, portrayer Kimberlin Brown admitted that she was. “I didn’t see this coming, quite honestly,” she told Deadline.
When B&B executive producer and headwriter Brad Bell called Brown to his office and informed her that they were going to be killing off her character of Sheila Carter, she simply accepted that as part of the job. “I was just grateful that he was the one who told me,” she confided, “and that I didn’t hear it from whispers down the hallway. It speaks volumes when you have that kind of integrity because I know there are other shows that don’t always do that. So I was very happy that he had the respect for me and my character to tell me firsthand.”
In fact, Brown recently purchased some property in Montana so that she could live closer to her family and was on the verge of closing down the house she rents in Los Angeles for work when she was informed that Sheila was being brought back. “I truly thought this was a done deal,” she confessed. “And like I said, it was a bit of a roller coaster ride for me and I’m just so thankful that that roller coaster is back on the uphill swing.”
Of course, some of the more cynical viewers out there will suspect that this was Bell’s plan all along, having Brown do all those exit interviews to make it all seem real so Sheila’s resurrection would be more of a surprise. ”But I can’t see anybody doing anything that evil, however,” she mused. “That would be a Sheila moment.”
