Krista Allen Reveals Why Taylor Is Wearing a Wig on B&B
When Krista Allen made her debut as the recast Taylor on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, there was one thing that a lot of fans couldn’t stop commenting on, and it wasn’t the actress’ performance or how the character’s return would shake up Brooke and Ridge’s marriage. Nope, it was her hair!
“Everybody has been obviously letting me know that I should get rid of the wig,” Allen laughed while doing a live chat with B&B supervising producer Casey Casprzyk. “It’s been such a hard thing because I think that some people think that I’m choosing to wear a wig because I think it looks beautiful.”
Acknowledging that there have been issues with wearing a wig, the actress admitted that unfortunately, it was a necessity for the beginning of her run on the soap. “Right when I got cast for this part, my hair was a short, blonde pixie,” Allen revealed. “It’s been growing, but it was blonde and I started working within a week. So we didn’t have time. I had to take my hair back from blonde to dark brown. So we needed a little bit of time.”
Unfortunately, Taylor’s hair has been changing as much as her clothes in the recent episodes as the hair department has been trying all kinds of different styles. “We tried a couple of different ones,” she confided. “And yes, we even tried one in the same set of scenes. We didn’t mean to! I’ve seen side-by-side screenshots of people going, ‘What is happening? It’s dark here and 10 inches longer and lighter…’ Anyway, at some point, it’s all going to be something funny.
“But the funniest part for me is how people don’t understand,” Allen added with a laugh. “I know — we know — that the wig is bad. We know. We’ve been trying so hard. It’s not for lack of trying. Wigs are hard, I guess. I don’t know!”
On the plus side, during her BOLD Live chat with Kasprzyk, Allen was sporting a stylish new bob in a lovely shade of dark brown and looking much more like Taylor should. “When I come back [from the holiday break], this is my hair,” she promised, “which is going to be incorporated into all of our scenes, and then you guys will never have to look at a wig again. Ever That’s it!”
