Krista Allen Shares an Adorable Pic of Her First Stage Performance!

Many actors have that early role that they’re embarrassed to talk about. But they’ll also have that very early role in a school play that’s just downright adorable! Daytime alum Krista Allen (ex-Taylor, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL; ex-Billie, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) recently shared a vintage snapshot of herself dressed up as a cat on stage with some other kids on X/Twitter.

“My very first performance on stage,” she wrote. “I was six. Shout out to all my ‘castmates’ at Sunshine Elementary School, especially Bucky McMannis in the blue suit, who called me ‘Poo Poo Pee Pee Head’ every day… and then asked me to be his valentine right before the show.” Obviously, the actress revealed: “I said no.”

However, while some actors got their first taste of performing in school productions and were inspired to pursue it as a career, the B&B alum admitted that wasn’t quite how it went with her. “I started acting in my mid-20s as a means to work with my insecurities of being on the spectrum (AuDHD) because I was always ‘masking’ so acting helped me feel like I ‘fit in’ with society a little better — I got to mask for a living! It was really a challenge for a long time, but it became a huge blessing.”

AuDHD is a relatively new term to describe someone who has both autism as well as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. “Masking” is when a person with ADHD covers up their symptoms and acts in a way that is considered more socially acceptable.

So Allen found a way to turn that behavior into a career, starring on both DAYS and B&B as well as in television series like FRIENDS, SMALLVILLE, X-FILES, and MODERN FAMILY and films like Liar Liar, Anger Management, and The Final Destination.
