Molly McCook’s Beautiful Tribute to Her Father, John McCook

Tags:

As one of the only two remaining original cast members of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, John McCook has amassed countless memories during his 36 years on the soap. Not to mention his five years as Lance Prentiss on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as well as his work on stage and screens both big and small!

The veteran actor shared a video created by his daughter, Molly McCook, that shows fans around his dressing room at the soap as well as a brief glimpse of him working on set. “Never leave anyone alone in your dressing room,” he joked.

“Come with me to visit my dad at work,” Molly said in her narration. “My dad is an actor. He has been on B&B for over 30 years, which is as long as I’ve been on this earth. What a gift it’s been, truly, to him and to our family, because it’s so rare that you have a job for that long as an actor.”

Molly pans her camera around her father’s dressing room, showing off the family photos tacked to a bulletin board, posters of stage productions he was in, photos he took with stars like Carol Burnett and Carol Channing, as well as a personal note from Betty White, who stayed in his dressing room while she was playing Ann on the soap.

“What a dream as an actor to have the same gig for so long,” Molly added, “but also to have a dressing room that you can just add to over the years that just feels like another home.”

The comments on the Instagram post quickly filled up with love from fans and friends, including many former co-stars. “You are a dream acting partner and a dream TV husband,” declared Rena Sofer (ex-Quinn). “You are the best. I miss you, I admire you, and I adore you!”

Darin Brooks (ex-Wyatt) and Winsor Harmon (Thorne) praised Molly’s work on the video and Adrienne Frantz (ex-Amber) gushed: “I love you so much, McCookie! So glad I got to see you recently! I remember that dressing room very fondly! We were just talking about this! I feel blessed to be a part of your story! You are one of the wonderful ones! Cheers to the next chapter!”
