B&B’s Scott Clifton Doesn’t Like Liam Right Now, Either!

Liam Spencer has done a lot of terrible things over the years on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL but right now on the soap, fans are really angry with the guy! And as some viewers often tag the actors when complaining about characters and storylines on their favorite soaps, Scott Clifton has seen a lot of the recent comments and wanted to step in. “For the record,” he tweeted. “Of course I want to choke Liam as much as y’all do. He’s become a terrible person.”

Liam has often waffled between the various women in his life, particularly Hope and Steffy. But the recent storyline where he spent the night with Steffy after mistakenly believing Hope had betrayed him with Tomas has fans seeing red. However, Clifton would like to remind fans that as actors, they have no say in what their characters do. “My job is to find a way to motivate and humanize Liam’s choices,” he explained. “I can’t change the story our writers want to tell; I can only try my best to make it evocative and real.”

Liam has never had the best track record with his romantic life!CBS

In his castmate’s defense, longtime B&B star John McCook tweeted: “No one could play Liam as well and as believably as Scott. I think he could rise to any challenge.” Honored by the daytime vet’s support and praise, Clifton joked, “I’d throw out all my Emmys if I could put this tweet on my bookshelf instead.”

And for the record, Clifton has three of those trophies in his home, in all three acting categories for playing B&B’s Liam. He took home Outstanding Younger Actor in 2011, Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2013, and Outstanding Lead Actor in 2017. And if you include his time as Dillon on ABC sudser GENERAL HOSPITAL, Clifton has racked up a total of nine Emmy nominations in his daytime career. So we have no doubt that whatever the B&B writers throw at him, he’ll be able to make it sing!
