Sean Kanan Reveals What Deacon Really Wants on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL

Tags:

On THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, Deacon has been taking a lot of verbal punches lately when it comes to his feelings for Brooke and what went down on New Year’s Eve. But as the cad’s portrayer, Sean Kanan, shared in an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Deacon was simply trying to do the right thing that night and take care of the woman he loves. Yep, loves.

“Deacon will always carry a torch for Brooke, and there is no guile or subterfuge involved at all,” the actor explained. “In his mind, she is the one who got away, and he has always loved her. It is 100 percent justified.”

As B&B viewers know, Brooke got drunk on New Year’s Eve and shared a steamy kiss with Deacon. While Deacon may be a lot of things, the kind of guy that takes advantage of a drunk woman he is not! After putting Brooke to bed, Deacon fell asleep next to her, but she panicked and kicked him out the next morning. While Ridge is aware that his wife fell off the wagon, the kiss Brooke shared with her former fling is a secret she’s hoping never comes out. Which in the world of soaps, of course, will undoubtedly be brought to light at the most inopportune time!

“Playing these scenes, I look at Thorsten [Kaye, Ridge] and I’d be like, ‘I’d get a shotgun,’” Kanan said with a laugh. “That’d be me, but I completely understand Ridge’s blatant apprehension and wanting Deacon to leave now.”

With Brooke and Ridge teetering on the edge of a breakup, Kanan believes that his alter ego wouldn’t mind one bit if Deacon was the person she turned to for a shoulder to cry on. “All Deacon is doing” Kanan concluded, “is trying to fight the good fight.” And if that wins him the girl in the end, so be it!
