Sean Kanan Teases the Future of Deacon and Sheila on B&B!
When Sean Kanan returned to THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL as Deacon, he first hoped to possibly rekindle things with Brooke, then showed some chemistry with Taylor. “Deacon obviously carries this torch for Brooke,” Kanan admitted during an episode of BOLD LIVE, “but I think there was definitely a spark there with Taylor, too.”
But to everyone’s surprise — including Deacon’s! — the guy actually ended up with Sheila! Hiding her out in his apartment while she was on the run from the law led to the pair actually kicking off a relationship that no one saw coming.
“This was a brilliant stroke putting Deacon with Sheila,” Kanan declared. “Because I think if you take a couple that everybody hates in the beginning, they’re like, ‘No way do we want to see those two together,’ and then you win the fans over, they become more supportive and better fans of a couple because you kinda had to bring them across all of their objections. And then once they’ve emotionally signed on to it, then they’re really invested.”
Deacon tried popping the question to Brooke, but the actor doesn’t see his alter ego trying the same approach with Sheila. Especially since she’s now declared her love for Bill! But is this truly the end of Sheila and Deacon?
“I think Deacon never expected to feel the way he does about Sheila,” Kanan confided. “I don’t know what’s coming up but I think it’s going to be interesting because it’s no longer just a function of Deacon hiding Sheila out in his place and the two of them rolling around in bed together. There’s really feelings here. So I think any time there’s real feelings it raises the stakes. We shall see.”
Since getting out of prison, Deacon has been putting his life back together, even now becoming the owner of Il Giardino and moving out of his broom closet into an actual apartment. Now all the guy needs is a solid, committed relationship. “I think the guy deserves to have someone who loves him back,” Kanan said. But could that someone actually be Sheila?
