THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL Preview: John McCook Explains Eric’s Plan

Tags:

This week on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, Eric remains determined to go through with the party celebrating his life even after he passed out on the floor of his home! With his health deteriorating the Forrester patriarch wants to try and focus on the good while he still has time left.

John McCook told Soap Opera Digest that Eric’s motive for continuing with plans for the big party “is wanting to put a positive spin on his life for himself. But he also wants to have everybody there and for them to stop being so concerned about him. He wants to celebrate that he won the competition with Ridge. He wants everyone to celebrate that with him.

“And subconsciously, he wants them to stop seeing what he thinks they’re seeing, which is his deterioration,” the actor added. “And Donna is right there by his side, understanding, but trying to talk him out of the things that she knows are going to be hard for him.”

But Eric will not be dissuaded from throwing this bash celebrating his life and success, despite how much his health is failing him. And his portrayer can kind of understand that point of view.

“I think maybe I personally would do a little bit of that myself,” McCook confided. “My work is a very important part of my life, and going to Television City in Hollywood [where B&B tapes] is one of the big joys in my life. So if I had that kind of diagnosis and that kind of impending negativity in my health, I think I would try to walk very tall and ignore it and rise above it while I was at work in front of the people I work with, and while I was doing my work, I would try to overcome it. I understand what Eric is doing, I really do.”

So make sure you RSVP for Eric’s party and keep watching B&B to see what happens next!
