Thorsten Kaye Explains Why He Loves Detroit

Anyone who knows THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL star Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) is aware that he’s a superfan of the Detroit Red Wings hockey team. How did he come to adopt that particular team as his favorite? The actor told Soaps In Depth it goes all the way back to his father, who worked for General Motors while Kaye was a kid. “I’m also a big Chevy guy, so the Motor City has always been a big part of my life.”

Kaye lived in Detroit during his 20s when he was in a classical repertory theater, and he loved the experience. “We did seven plays at the same time,” he recalls. “It was so hard, but looking back, you think, ‘That was awesome.’ I think my most fun time as an actor was the time when I was in Detroit.” For that reason, the city — and its NHL organization, which holds more Stanley Cup wins than any other U.S. team — continues to have a hold on Kaye’s heart!
