Brytni Sarpy Dishes Elena’s Next Move on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS

Like many viewers, Brytni Sarpy (Elena) wasn’t surprised when Nate cheated on her alter ego on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. But she was surprised by the woman with whom he cheated!

“I thought that was a little shocking,” Sarpy confessed to Soap Opera Digest. “At first, I thought maybe Nate would have a thing with Audra, so I wasn’t anticipating Victoria. I think it makes sense now because it showed just how far Nate is willing to go for his game, but yeah, that was surprising.”

After catching Nate with Victoria in Los Angeles (thanks to a tip from a meddling Audra), Elena got to really give it to her ex when she ran into them together again back home in Genoa City. “Nate and Victoria were canoodling in public, which is so tacky and pitiful to her, and Elena took it upon herself to let them know what she thought of them. It was cathartic for her because she felt like she got all of the drama out of the way. As far as she’s concerned, there’s no hope of reconciling with Nate, so she’s moving on.”

However, at this time, Elena still has not moved on with another man. She’s been focusing on work as well as offering support and advice to friends in need like Adam and Sally after they lost their baby, and Mariah and Tessa when they learned their newborn daughter was experiencing hearing loss. But Sarpy is fine with that, given how things with Devon and Nate both ended up.

“I think it makes sense that she would be a little hardened and a little cold when it comes to love,” the actress mused. “I just hope that it changes the emphasis of what she really cares about right now, and that’s medicine. After doing those two relationships back-to-back, all of the pain and despair within them has left a nasty taste in her mouth, so I think it’s a good time for her to take a healthy break from that drama.”
