It’s a family reunion as THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS stars Bryton James (Devon) and Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla) are reunited in the new season of her series THE RICH AND THE RUTHLESS! “The wait for season four is over!” the actress declared on Instagram. “Binge-watch exclusively on BET+, our new home premiering May 13! We welcome talented Emmy Award-winning actor Bryton James to our cast! It was a dream to direct my TV son! Mark your calendars!”
Y&R fans remember the pair sharing the screen on the CBS soap when James joined the cast in 2004 as the young foster teen that Neil and Dru took in and ultimately adopted. After leaving Genoa City in 2007, Rowell went on to play many other roles and created THE RICH AND THE RUTHLESS in 2017, loosely based on her novels Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva and The Young and the Ruthless. The comedy series, created, written, produced, and starring Rowell, centers on a backstage look at the production of a fictional soap opera and the hilarity that ensues.
In 2018, THE RICH AND THE RUTHLESS received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Digital Daytime Drama Series for Rowell’s co-star, Richard Brooks. And in 2018 and 2019, the show won Best Ensemble in a Comedy at the Indie Series Awards.
Although neither Rowell nor James said anything about the character he would be playing on the soap, James’ IMDb page lists him as “Cameo Guest Star Traque” in episodes two through six of the fourth season. So be sure to check it out when THE RICH AND THE RUTHLESS debuts its newest season on Thursday, May 13! You can also catch up on seasons one, two, and three streaming on Amazon Prime!
