Y&R Alum Donny Boaz Mourns the Death of His Stepfather Jerry Skelton

Please join us in sending love to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Donny Boaz (ex-Chance), who is mourning the death of his stepfather, Jerry Skelton. “It is with a very heavy and sad heart that I post this,” the actor shared on Instagram. “One of the most important people in my life, my step-dad, Pastor Jerry Skelton, passed away yesterday morning.

“I’ve known this man since I was 10 years old,” Boaz continued. “I created so many headaches for this man growing up, we didn’t always see eye-to-eye, but he is one of the most honorable men I’ve ever known. And Honor to him to which Honor is due.

“I’ve never known someone to be as giving and selfless as this man,” he concluded. “A pastor for 57 years, he has literally touched thousands of lives, including my own. No one prayed for me more. You will be missed and I hope someday I’m at least half the dad that you didn’t have to be.”

Boaz began his career in show business as a male model and worked around the world before returning to America to pursue acting. He appeared in primetime series like DALLAS, MY ALL AMERICAN, and SIX, and his move to daytime as Chance Chancellor on Y&R made him a quick fan-favorite among viewers. Sadly, his run on the CBS sudser lasted less than two years. Since leaving Y&R, Boaz has appeared in the CW series ALL AMERICAN and has been cast in the upcoming HBO series THE STAIRCASE.
