Doug Davidson Reunites With Friend and Y&R Co-Star Steve Ford!

Tags:

Two old friends and THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS castmates were reunited recently but unfortunately, it didn’t happen in Genoa City! “Happy birthday and happy anniversary!” Doug Davidson (Paul) declared on Instagram, sharing a pic of himself with Steve Ford (ex-Andy). “Caught up with Steve a week or so ago! Hadn’t seen him in ages, but it’s like we never stopped working together! Great times!”

Davidson is well-known to Y&R fans for playing the popular character Paul Williams since May 1978. He has been nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards five times, taking home the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor in 2013. Although the soap’s longest-serving cast member, his appearances on the soap in recent years has been sporadic.

Ford is the son of former U.S. President Gerald Ford and Betty Ford, and joined the cast of Y&R in 1981, playing the role of private investigator Andy Richards. He appeared until 1987, then returned to Genoa City for another stint from 2002-03. Ford can also be seen making appearances in TV series like BAYWATCH, WALKER TEXAS RANGER, and DR. QUINN, MEDICINE WOMAN as well as films like Contact, Armageddon, and Transformers.

The actors weren’t the only ones excited to be spending time together again — some of their Y&R stars shared the loves in the comments on Instagram. “Amazing!” exclaimed Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren) adding a couple of fire emojis for good measure. Lauralee Bell (Christine) responded with a pair of heart emojis and applause, while Don Diamont (ex-Brad; Bill, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) posted a smiley face and a heart.

Now if only we could have seen Paul and Andy working on a case together in Genoa City… Oh well, this will have to do!
