Hunter King Celebrates Her Sister’s “Magical” Wedding!
It was a fairytale moment when actress Joey King married director Steven Piet in Mallorca, Spain, on Sept. 3, and the bride’s big sisters — THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Hunter King (ex-Summer) and eldest sibling Kelli— were by her side for it all. The older King sisters stood up for Joey as bridesmaids, and from the way Hunter wrote about the lavish ceremony and party on Instagram, the festivities put soap opera weddings to shame!
“For the last couple of days, I’ve been trying to think of a way to put last weekend into words,” Hunter began an Instagram post that included a carousel of stunning professional photos from the big day, as well as more intimate, personal pictures. “To be honest, nothing I write out quite encapsulates what a beautiful, magical wedding it was.”
Joey and Piet — who met when he directed her in 2019’s THE ACT, a limited drama series on Hulu — exchanged vows atop La Fortaleza, a historic fortress set high on a hill that was built in 1628. According to Vogue, the couple loved The Great Gatsby feel of their chosen venue, where they exchanged self-penned vows at sunset in front of 100 guests. “We danced (till almost 3 a.m.), we cried happy tears (okay, I cried a lot of happy tears), and we didn’t stop smiling once,” Hunter shared of the reception, which was held under a party tent pitched alongside the main house.
For their bridesmaids’ duties, Hunter and Kelli (as well as Joey’s other attendants) were swathed in custom-made gowns by Self-Portrait. Both sisters toasted the bride and groom with “hilarious and heartwarming speeches,” according to Vogue.
“I couldn’t be happier that these two found each other and now get to spend forever together,” Hunter concluded. “Truly the most incredible wedding for the most incredible people.”
