Hunter King Previews Her Romantic New Hallmark Movie!
From Genoa City to the tropical shores of Hawaii! THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Hunter King (ex-Summer) makes her debut as a Hallmark leading lady this weekend in the romantic original film Hidden Gems! Airing as part of the cable network’s “Summer Nights” programming block, Hidden Gems was filmed entirely on location in Honolulu and stars King as Addie and Beau Mirchoff (from the Freeform drama GOOD TROUBLE) as Jack.
While in Hawaii for her sister’s destination wedding, maid of honor Addie is taking a paddleboard yoga session when she loses her beloved grandmother’s ring. Determined to recover the treasured family heirloom, Addie hires Jack, a local dive instructor, to search for the bauble. But Jack is a bit of a lone wolf, and immediately clashes with peppy Addie, who insists that she assists in his search since she is a certified Scuba diver herself. After Jack reluctantly comes to an agreement with Addie, he becomes her own personal tour guide, showing her the island’s hidden gems. Will exploring the super romantic hideaways bring Addie and Jack closer together?
We have a suspicion that we know how this grumpy/sunshine story will end… It is a Hallmark Channel movie after all! And Y&R alum King had a blast filming the movie on location this spring, as she shared on Instagram. “From getting to work in Hawaii, to magically avoiding getting seasick (hallelujah), to working with such a fun cast and crew, and not to mention making some of the most amazing friends… I think it’s safe to say I had a shell of a time,” the punny actress wrote.
King — who’d twice won a Daytime Emmy Award for her portrayal of Nick and Phyllis’ daughter on Y&R — also shared her gratitude to Hallmark Channel for tapping her to lead one of their popular original movies. “Thank you for letting me live out my romcom dream,” she enthused, adding a heart emoji.
