Longtime fans won’t want to miss the Wednesday, Jan. 25 episode of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as the soap celebrates Tracey Bregman’s 40th anniversary as Lauren Fenmore. Because while there will be plenty of flashbacks of memorable moments from her history in Genoa City but there will also be some special appearances, including one from Judith Chapman as Gloria!
It had already been announced that Zach Tinker would be reprising his role of Fen to help celebrate his TV mom’s anniversary in the special episode, but now Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Chapman will be appearing as Gloria to help round out the entire Baldwin family unit.
The character of Gloria was first introduced back in April 2004 and was played by KNOTS LANDING star Joan Van Ark. However, by January 2005, veteran daytime actress Chapman had stepped into the vixen’s pumps and created a fan-favorite character that viewers are always delighted to see gracing their screen.
The last time Chapman appeared on Y&R was back in June 2022 when Gloria offered Chloe and Chelsea some advice when the pair were struggling with working together successfully. Before that, she also joined the rest of the Baldwin clan in celebrating Christian LeBlanc’s anniversary as Michael in a special episode that aired in January 2022.
Unfortunately for fans, this looks like it will be another one-off appearance, not a proper return to the canvas where Gloria will get mixed up in some new storyline. But maybe one day! (We’d love to see Gloria facing off with Diane for Jack!)
