Kelly Kruger Reveals Her Secret for Flawless Skin!

Folks who follow Kelly Kruger on social media know that the daytime alum is now a content creator all about sharing her favorite makeup tips and tricks and healthy, kid-friendly recipes. In one of her recent videos, Kruger — formerly THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Mac and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Eva — took her followers along as she got what is known as a “vampire facial!”

The official name of the procedure is platelet-rich plasma facial rejuvenation, and it is known to improve overall skin texture, decrease the appearance of fine lines, and target issues like acne scars and sun damage. Because it uses the person’s own blood, many beauty creators have dubbed it the vampire facial.

Kruger went to Tarzana Cosmetic MedSpa in Tarzana, California, for the procedure and, as she confessed in the video, was actually quite squeamish at first about the thought of having her own blood injected back into her face! “This is the most natural skin treatment you can get because you’re actually using your own blood. And yes, I get queasy just mentioning the word blood,” she shared in the video. “How did I birth two children?”

As the actress explains, after the doctor draws the patient’s blood, the blood is placed into a centrifuge machine, which spins it around at a high speed and separates the blood components. “The plasma is rich in platelets and growth factors, which are thought to stimulate the body’s healing process and promote collagen production when reintroduced into the skin,” Kruger wrote.

Kruger’s plasma was then injected back into her face by the practitioner. “The PRP can be reintroduced into the skin through micro-needling or direct injection,” wrote Kruger, who had both done during her treatment. “A provider uses a micro-needling device to create tiny punctures in the skin, then applies the PRP to these areas to encourage wound healing and speed up cell turnover.”

The entire process took less than an hour, and although her face was red and irritated immediately afterward, Kruger shared that the discoloration went away after about three days. “And then my skin just kept getting better and better,” she raved. “I’m really happy with the result.”

We always thought Kruger was beautiful before, but she has an extra radiance to her complexion now! Talk about a glow-up!
