Y&R Alum Lachlan Buchanan Returns to DYNASTY
Looks like trouble! Lachlan Buchanan is back on DYNASTY as Ryan, and it’s going to mean big drama for Sam! “It’s too much fun getting to play with this handsome fella on TV,” the actor said on Instagram, sharing a selfie he took with co-star Rafael De La Fuente. “Working with friends is the icing on the cake.”
Buchanan, who daytime fans remember from his 2015-16 stint as Kyle Abbott on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, first appeared in the primetime sudser in the 2020 episode titled “My Hangover’s Arrived.” During that hour, Fallon’s bachelorette party took an unexpected turn when Ryan, the hot male stripper who performed for her group ended up married to her gay BFF Sam the next day! Due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, production had to be shut down and this episode ended up acting as the unintended third season finale of the series.
Now that production has resumed, Buchanan has returned to the soap to continue telling the storyline. Ryan has said he is happy to annul their drunken marriage but has also spent time with the wealthy hotel owner in the hopes of sparking a real relationship. Unfortunately, Sam has also learned that Ryan has been lying about his flight being canceled, forcing him to stick around Atlanta. What is Ryan really up to? You’ll have to tune in to find out! DYNASTY airs every Friday night at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
DYNASTY isn’t the only place you can catch Y&R’s former Kyle in primetime as the Aussie native has been appearing as Emmett Dixon in seasons three and four of the ABC drama STATION 19, which airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.
