Melissa Claire Egan’s Husband Guest Stars on Y&R!
Fans of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS would be forgiven for not recognizing a special guest star (especially in a mask) but the man kidnapping Chelsea in the Nov. 4 episode is none other than Melissa Claire Egan’s real-life husband, Matt Katrosar! “When you have to get ‘kidnapped’ on the show you work on during COVID times and no one’s allowed to touch you,” Egan explained on Instagram, “sometimes the husband has to come in and do the job.
“Tune in Wednesday (but watch all week, it’s gettin’ real juicy!) to see Matt Katrosar kill it as the ‘masked man’” she continued before adding, ‘He prefers to be called Stryker.” And on his own Instagram, Katrosar joked, “Tune in Wednesday. The part I was born to play.”
The comments were filled with fun responses from fans and friends alike. “OMG, this is hysterical!” laughed Egan’s former ALL MY CHILDREN co-star Cameron Mathison (Ryan). And fellow AMC alum Alicia Minshew (Kendall) exclaimed: “Oh my God, I love this so much! Amazing! What a fun role for Matt! Stryker!”
Justin Hartley, who used to play Adam on Y&R opposite Egan wrote: “Now I know what I’m doing on Wednesday!” And Rebecca Budig, who played Greenlee to her Annie on AMC was impressed with her friend’s professionalism. “I’m not sure how you got through that without laughing the whole time,” she remarked. Of course, if you look at the blurry backstage photo above that Egan shared, it’s clear that as soon as the cameras stopped rolling, the real-life couple couldn’t resist the giggles!
