Y&R’s Melissa Claire Egan Is Pregnant!

Please join us in congratulating THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea), who is pregnant with her first child with husband Matt Katrosar! “Very excited to share, Baby Boy Katrosar is set to arrive at the end of August!” the actress posted to Instagram. Sharing the same pic, her hubby added: “Beyond grateful and excited! Also forever impressed with my beautiful wife for her willingness and desire to share and help others that are struggling.”

Back in September 2018, Egan opened up about the miscarriage that she suffered back in January of that year, and now offered her support to other women who have struggled to have children as she shared her own joy. “As happy as we are,” she admitted, “the journey to get here has been filled with lots of tears, stress, sadness, helplessness, hopelessness, and two miscarriages. To anyone going through this process or any kind of fertility issues, I feel you, I see you, you’re not alone. I wish I could jump through this phone and give you a big hug. Please do not give up hope. Keep trusting and have faith. You got this!”

Y&R co-stars like Melissa Ordway (Abby), Sharon Case (Sharon), and Lauralee Bell (Christine) all offered congrats on social media, and Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe) was already trying to set up her pal’s son with her baby girl! “Yass!” she cheered. “JoJo’s new boyfriend! You’re going to be the best mom. And cutest parents! Beyond happy for you both.’

Egan also starred as Annie on ABC sudser ALL MY CHILDREN for years, so her pals from Pine Valley were also overjoyed at the news. “Love you so much, Missy!” declared Cameron Mathison (Ryan). “I’m crying over here! So, so happy for you and Matt.” And Alicia Minshew (Kendall) also jokingly tried to get dibs on the baby boy! “Yes, I am so happy you and Matt can finally tell the world!” she wrote. “You know how I feel. You made me cry! I am so thrilled that you are giving birth to my future son-in-law. Love to you both. You are gorgeous!”
