Melissa Ordway Celebrates Her Y&R Anniversary!

Please join us in congratulating Melissa Ordway, who is celebrating her tenth anniversary playing Abby on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS! “Thank you!” the actress enthused on Instagram as she shared a video montage of memories from those 10 years set to “Live Your Beautiful Life” by Lights Follow. “Today marks 10 years of Y&R bliss!”

After a series of twins, Darcy Rose Byrnes played Abby Newman as a child until 2008 when the character was aged into a teenager and played by Hayley Erin, who later went on to play Kiki on GENERAL HOSPITAL. In 2010, Abby was aged into an adult and played by Emme Rylan until 2013 when she left to play Lulu on GH. Ordway stepped into the role on April 16, 2013, and made it her own for the past decade.

“Abby has been in several catfights, married, engaged, started her own successful business, been very unlucky in love, become a mother, and grown up so much!” Ordway marveled of her alter ego. “So have I… Thankfully, more lucky in the love department (thanks, Justin Gaston (ex-Chance)). I’ve had two babies, raised them in the CBS halls, remarried my own husband on TV, had lots of fun, and now have co-workers who are like my family.”

Among the numerous clips included in her video, Ordway shared some videos and photos of her with her daughters, Olivia (7) and Sophie (5) as well as with her husband, Gaston, who Y&R fans remember temporarily stepped in as Chance for Abby and Chance’s big wedding. (Hence remarrying her own husband on TV!)

The comments on Ordway’s Instagram post filled up with congratulatory messages from fans and friends, including some of her Y&R castmates. “Love this and love you!” enthused Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea). ‘We’re so lucky to have you!” Lauralee Bell (Christine) shared a heart emoji followed by an applause emoji, and Tracey Bregman (Lauren) threw up multiple raised hands, fire, applause, and heart emojis!

Congratulations again to Ordway on marking her first decade in Genoa City. And here’s to many more years to come!
