Melissa Ordway’s Daughter Recovering After Emergency Surgery
Please join us in sending love to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Melissa Ordway, and her daughter, Olivia, who is recovering after a visit to the hospital. “Not the way we wanted or expected to spend our day,” the mom shared on Instagram on Aug. 15, “but I couldn’t be more proud of Olivia’s spirit, bravery, and strength.
“Her arm wasn’t healing the way doctors wanted so Olivia had to have emergency surgery to repair her arm,” Ordway explained. “Thankful to the incredible team of doctors, nurses, and everyone who helped fix her arm and make today as happy as it could be under the circumstances.”
And it appears that the surgery was a success and Olivia is already on the mend, because the following day, the proud mom shared a series of snaps of Olivia and her little sister, Sofie, where the girls were all smiles. Even Olivia was grinning as she showed off her brand-new pink cast decorated with stickers of Elsa from Frozen!
In a subsequent Instagram post, the Y&R star revealed that Olivia had tripped over the bottom step in their home and landed on her elbow. “Her surgeon said the surgery should fix it up!” Ordway reported. “She’ll have to wear the cast for an estimated four weeks.”
The proud mom is impressed at how well her big girl handled the whole thing. “Olivia, you are the kindest soul, brightest light, and my hero,” Ordway declared. All the best to Olivia for a very speedy recovery so she can get that cast off soon!
