Melissa Ordway Returns to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!
Back at it! It’s been a few weeks since THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Melissa Ordway (Abby) has been at the soap’s CBS studios. First, the actress was overseas in Monaco on a promotional publicity tour for Y&R, and then she tested positive for COVID-19 upon returning home to the United States. Thankfully, Ordway is all better and has resumed taping her character’s storyline at Y&R!
Ordway announced her happy news on Instagram, sharing a behind-the-scenes photo of her and co-star Conner Floyd (Chance) on the set of Society. “Abby’s back,” Ordway captioned the photo, including a star shine emoji to punctuate how thrilled she was. “After Monte Carlo and then quarantine it feels so good to be back in Genoa City!”
On June 17, Ordway was in the European principality of Monaco, representing the soap at the 61st Annual Monte-Carlo Television Festival. She was joined by co-star Jason Thompson (Billy) as well as several colleagues from THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL at the five-day event, which included glamorous parties, artist panels, signing sessions, the Golden Nymph Awards, and more.
The group of Y&R and B&B soap stars and executives returned to Los Angeles after the festival concluded on June 19 and they all were tested for the coronavirus. While B&B star Krista Allen (Taylor) shared on Twitter that everyone from that show had been cleared, Ordway and Thompson, unfortunately, both tested positive for the contagious virus. Because they then had to quarantine, Ordway and Thompson both missed the Daytime Emmy Awards on June 24.
Now, just about three weeks later, Ordway has been able to pick up where she left off before her trip to Monte Carlo — and received many comments on her post from Y&R fans welcoming her back to the soap. “So glad you are better,” wrote one follower. “Thank goodness! Missed Abby!” cheered another.
