Melody Thomas Scott Previews Nikki’s Nightmare on Y&R!

Tags:

When her new assistant lured her into a trap, Nikki found herself thrown into a waking nightmare on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as she was held prisoner and had vodka pumped into her veins to knock her off the wagon. And for one thrilling week, the Newman family was the center of the action as they raced to Oregon to find Nikki and save her from Jordan’s evil plot!

As viewers recall, those episodes played out with Victor, Nick, Victoria, and Cole dealing with Jordan and Claire while upstairs, Nikki was locked in a bedroom, oblivious to the drama going on below. And portrayer Melody Thomas Scott wanted to be the same. “We all have the option to read full scripts,” she told GlobalTV.com, “but if Nikki doesn’t know, I don’t want to know. It might how I play something and I don’t want that to creep in.”

So when Victor finally got Nikki out of her prison and brought her downstairs to rejoin the family, Scott’s reaction to the chaos was genuine. “I get down there and Nicholas has a big slash across his chest, everybody’s been poisoned, and they’re all dying,” she said. “It was shocking.”

Although that ordeal only lasted one week of episodes and Jordan was quickly thrown in jail, her actions have had lasting repercussions as the Newman family wrestles with the fact that Claire is really Cole and Victoria’s daughter they thought had died at birth, and Nikki struggles to regain her sobriety.

“I would have been so disappointed if the story had been over when the Newmans walked out of that lake house,” Scott confided. “Blessedly, no, it is not! In the next few weeks, you’ll see that the terror has intensified. The threats of Jordan are not over, by any means.”
