Michael Damian Mourns the Death of His Beloved Mother
Please join us in sending love to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Michael Damian (ex-Danny), who is mourning the passing of his mother, Maria. “My dearest friends,” the actor shared on Instagram. “Mom is united with God. [My wife] Janeen and I and the entire family thank you for your continued prayers for her. God bless you all.”
Damian took to Twitter on Oct. 23 to report that his mom was not doing well and to ask for prayers from his fans. “Dearest friends,” he wrote. “I am sad to say my mother’s health is not doing well and she needs prayers. If you have a moment please include mom Maria Angela in your prayers. I can’t thank you enough for your support and love you all very much! God bless.”
On Oct. 25, the Y&R grad reported that the love and prayers were working. “Mom is having a much better day today,” he tweeted. “If you have a sec, please include her in your prayers.” Over the following two days, Damian thanked fans again for their support and said that the prayers were working. But on Oct. 25, he sadly shared the news that she had passed away.
This tragic loss comes just days before Damian’s latest project is set to premiere on the Hallmark Channel, the new holiday movie he wrote and directed, titled Much Ado About Christmas. Following his popular run as Danny Romalotti on Y&R, a character he originated back in 1983, Damian has stepped behind the camera to write and produce films. And we’re sure his mother was proud of every single one of her son’s amazing accomplishments.
