Michael Damian Reveals Danny’s Feelings for Phyllis on Y&R (EXCLUSIVE)

Danny’s return to Genoa City reignited the Christine/Danny/Phyllis love triangle on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, and the two women are going to war over the man they love. Danny has made it clear that it’s Christine he really wants to be with, but how does he actually feel about Phyllis?

“Well, I think she’s very persuasive and she is tugging on all the right heartstrings,” Michael Damian confided to Soaps In Depth. “The family, how wonderful it would be for us all to be together. We never really had that full opportunity to have a real relationship… I mean, without all the chaos.

“So she’s doing a good sales job and Danny’s human, but he loves Cricket,” the actor continued. “I mean, that’s it. She’s the love of his life and they were just meant to be together. He just has to stay the course and don’t get distracted by all the noise.”

When Danny first came back, he found Phyllis in a dark place. She insisted that she was trying to become a better person but no one would give her a chance. “I think what happened is he was trying to help her out of this tailspin,” Damian explained. “And I think through all that, she interpreted it as something else. And then of course the other thing is, is this also just to get back at Cricket? Is she just doing it to mess with her?”

Even though Danny may have experienced some tremendous deja vu as Christine and Phyllis fight for his affections, Damian loves being back in the mix at Y&R with co-stars Lauralee Bell and Michelle Stafford. “The three of us have such a great time working together,” he enthused. “There’s a lot of love and respect on that stage.”
