Michelle Stafford Reveals Her Disguise Fooled Her Y&R Co-Stars!

Tags:

When Summer invited everyone to Phyllis’ memorial ceremony in the April 12 episode of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, no one in attendance realized that the guest of honor was there as well, very much alive and in disguise! Many fans thought the idea that no one would recognize Phyllis in a wig and glasses was absolutely ridiculous — and made those feelings quite clear by blasting the soap on social media — but it turns out that it’s not as far-fetched as it seems!

“Okay, for all of you lovers going off on Phyllis’ disguise,” Michelle Stafford tweeted in defense of her character. “I want you to know I stood in the set for an hour and my co-workers didn’t even recognize me!”

Viewers also found that hard to believe, but the actress insists that when they taped those scenes, she just blended right in. “Truly!” she declared. “Nobody recognized me. It was funny!”

Despite Stafford’s distinctive features, the glasses and dark brown wig in a short bob proved to be quite an effective disguise. So effective, in fact, that longtime co-star Joshua Morrow (Nick) didn’t even realize who the brunette woman was! “Josh walked right past me after I said, ‘Hi’,” she laughed. “It was so funny!”

Of course, attending her own memorial service has only shown Phyllis what a terrible mistake she made siding with Jeremy Stark to frame Diane for her “murder.” Seeing her friends and family grieving for her really struck a chord with the redhead and has made her second-guess her decision.

Unfortunately, Jeremy probably won’t take kindly to Phyllis changing her mind and trying to back out of their plan. He might even decide that it’s time that she dies for real! Stay tuned to Y&R to see how the story continues to unfold!
