Y&R’s Mishael Morgan Recovering From Emergency Surgery
Please join us in sending good thoughts for a speedy recovery to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Mishael Morgan (Amanda), who is recovering from emergency surgery. “So this happened!” she posted to Instagram with a couple of pics of her bandaged face. “Emergency eye surgery not fun, but saving my vision, rocking a new sexy pirate look, and one crazy story for the books… pretty fun!”
Although the actress and mom didn’t reveal exactly what that crazy story was, she did admit that the surgery was to correct a detached retina and that whatever incident caused it didn’t actually happen on the Y&R set. And while Morgan will be out of commission for a bit — as she indicated in one of her hashtags — there’s no indication as yet whether or not the soap will write this into Amanda’s storyline or simply wait until Morgan is no longer sporting an eyepatch before continuing to tell her story on screen.
Some fans chimed in via the comments to share their own stories of recovering from a detached retina and wishing her all the best as she heals. And a couple of Y&R castmates joined in as well. “Wishing you the speediest recovery,” wrote Brytni Sarpy (Elena) while Lauralee Bell (Christine) simply sent a heart and kissing emoji that pretty much says it all.
Y&R fans have loved Morgan ever since she made her debut as Hilary Curtis back in 2013 and were upset when the character was killed off in 2018. So they were very excited when the actress returned to the soap in 2019 as a new character, Amanda Sinclair.
Hopefully, Morgan will recover quickly so she can get back to work and viewers can see what happens next as Amanda’s dramatic story continues to unfold. Get well soon!
