Peter Bergman Opens up About the Return of the Abbott Family on Y&R
The Abbott family is back at the forefront on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and no one is happier about that than patriarch Jack Abbott himself, Peter Bergman! “I have been involved in other people’s stories, which I thoroughly enjoy,” the actor admitted to Soap Opera Digest, “but my way of thinking has always been: ‘When are we going to re-establish the Abbott family?’”
With the sad news that Jack’s son, Keemo, had passed away leading to the introduction of his daughter, Allie, the Abbotts started moving to the front of the canvas. And then the subsequent revelation that the one behind bringing Jack and his granddaughter together was a back-from-the-dead Diane meant plenty of drama for everyone in the family!
“I love that it’s generating a range of opinions,” Bergman said of the current storyline. “Traci has a perspective on this, Ashley has a perspective on this, and Billy has a perspective on this that have yet to be explored and I’m looking forward to that. It really ties the Abbotts together. The Abbott family is on the march. There’s a lot of good stuff coming up and I couldn’t be happier.”
As the Abbotts try to figure out how to deal with Diane wanting to be a part of Kyle’s life again, they’re also going to have to adjust to having a brand new family member in Allie as she settles into the clan and life in Genoa City.
