Y&R Alum Tammin Sursok Opens up About Her Medical Diagnosis and Women’s Health

Over the weekend, Tammin Sursok (ex-Colleen, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) shared on her Instagram stories the tale of her trip to the hospital. “I spent Saturday night in the ER,” the actress revealed. “After a lot of tests, we found out I have a large cyst in my right ovary. I will now be okay and going forward, knowing what it is, can manage and fix the problem.”

However, While going through this ordeal and thankfully receiving a diagnosis to put her on the road to recovery, Sursok was inundated by messages from fans who had found themselves in the same situation and weren’t so lucky. These women were among the many who have suffered from years of abdominal pain and misdiagnoses, some of whom were left unable to have children.

“So many of you also said that this subject is not really spoken about and how alone it makes you feel,” Sursok confided. “So let’s talk about it. Let’s make women’s health a priority. It is completely unacceptable that so many live in constant pain and anguish with no real answers.

“Let’s make it our mission to find these answers,” the Y&R alum continued. “Let’s fight to get more research, let’s share our stories in the hope that together, we can evoke change. Thank you for being there for me on Saturday night. I will do everything I can to also be there for you, too.” The actress then asked her fans to share their own stories in the comments on her Instagram post.

We’re glad to hear that Sursok is on the mend and hopefully, she can use her social media presence to help bring more awareness to this issue in particular and women’s health in general.
