Shocking news rocks Genoa City to its core in these THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS spoilers! As Chance relays the news of Phyllis’ death, Summer is devastated and Daniel looks for someone to blame. But what’s really going on here?
After Phyllis collapsed at the Genoa City bicentennial gala while ranting at Diane, she was rushed to the hospital. But Summer returned to the party to reveal that her mother never made it there. When news of an ambulance crash came in, everyone feared the worst, and now Chance confirms it.
“The ambulance that crashed, it was Phyllis’,” he reveals to the stunned crowd. “Phyllis didn’t make it.” Overcome with emotion, Summer goes weak in the knees and falls back into Kyle’s arms as she begins sobbing uncontrollably.
When they return home to the Abbott mansion, Ashley sees the looks on their faces and immediately asks, “What happened?” Through tears, Summer manages to explain. “My mom… is dead,” she sobs.
Diane covers her face in shock as Jack still can’t quite process the news. “How can Phyllis be gone?” he wonders aloud. And while Diane assured Jack she had nothing to do with what happened to her rival, does he really believe her?
Daniel, for one, is convinced foul play is involved, but he turns his attention to Jeremy Stark, still stunned at the news that Phyllis is now his wife. “What did you do to my mother, Stark?” he shouts. “Are you the reason that she’s dead?” What really happened to Phyllis… and who’s behind it?
