THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Special Tribute to Billy Miller
The entertainment community was crushed by the news that Billy Miller had passed away on Sept. 15 just days before his 44th birthday. Social media quickly filled up with tributes from friends, colleagues, and fans. Although his first soap role was as Richie on ALL MY CHILDREN and his last was playing Jason/Drew on GENERAL HOSPITAL, Miller spent six years playing Billy Abbott on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, earning three Daytime Emmy Awards during that time.
“To end today’s episode we paid tribute to a greatly missed member of the Y&R family,” the soap shared on social media on Sept. 21. “Billy Miller will forever be in our hearts.”
Following a caption that reads “In loving memory,” a series of clips of Miller playing Billy Abbott are displayed in slow motion. They include the 2012 episode where Billy transformed their home into a Jamaican resort to remind Victoria of when they fell in love, on bended knee to propose to Victoria, and ending with a freeze frame of him smiling as Billy stands in front of their new home on his and Victoria’s wedding day in 2010. The image freezes and the background fades as it turns to black-and-white and “Billy Miller 1979-2023” appears on the screen.
If you missed the tribute at the end of the episode or just want to see it again, you can see it right here.
