Y&R Alum Tyler Johnson Cast in an “Amazing” New Movie!

Daytime veteran Tyler Johnson has a new favorite girlfriend… and he’ll soon be with her on the screen! The actor, who played THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Theo, shared in several Instagram posts that he’s been working on the film My Favorite Girlfriend — and he is super excited about the project!

“What an amazing cast and crew,” Johnson raved in a post celebrating the movie’s wrap, sharing a photo of the large group of people who worked behind the scenes and in front of the camera to bring My Favorite Girlfriend to life. “What an amazing opportunity! Truly grateful!”

My Favorite Girlfriend is written and directed by Amanda Raymond — the director/producer/writer behind Netflix’s touching 2020 holiday movie You Are My Home. There isn’t much information available regarding the plot of the film, but actress/singer Bonnie Piesse, who will be starring in the upcoming Disney+ series OBI-WAN KENOBI, headlines the movie as Molly while Johnson plays Conrad, presumably Molly’s beau. Michael Nouri — who played Erica’s beau, Caleb Cortlandt, on ALL MY CHILDREN — and Ray Abruzzo (aka THE SOPRANOS’ Little Carmine) also appear in the film, along with Misty Rosas.

A few days before production wrapped on My Favorite Girlfriend, the Y&R alum shared a pic of him, Abruzzo, and Rosas posing on the steps of a dressing room trailer. Seeing her movie’s stars together, Raymond jumped at the chance to praise the talented trio. “What a lovely bunch,” she commented on Johnson’s photo. “Y’all are crushing it on set. I’m so pleased.” To that, Johnson shared how grateful he was to be a part of Raymond’s latest movie. “Thank you for the inclusion in your vision,” he wrote. “It’s truly beautiful what you’ve created.”

As of press time, there is no release information for My Favorite Girlfriend, so check back with for updates. But until then, Johnson’s fans can catch him in a recurring role on the upcoming season of SONS OF THUNDER REDEMPTION on PureFlix.
