Tyler Johnson Returns to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS

Tags:

Fans who miss Theo will be happy to know that Tyler Johnson is returning to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS to reprise his role! The actor departed Genoa City in December 2020 when Theo left town to run a fashion business in Paris he inherited from his grandmother, the late Dina Mergeron but Y&R confirms he will be back to take care of some unfinished business the week of Feb. 1!

Johnson broke the news to fans back in November when he tweeted that he was exiting the soap. Theo was introduced back in June 2019 as a troublemaker from Kyle’s past in New York who was later revealed to be part of the Abbott family, the result of an affair Dina had with Stuart Brooks. However, Theo never quite fit in with the family and after Dina passed away, he attempted to sue the Abbotts for his grandmother’s entire fortune. In the end, he failed and left town with the business in Paris as sort of a consolation prize. (At least he got something!)

Shortly before leaving Genoa City, Theo connected with Sally Spectra, who was stirring up some trouble for Summer and Kyle at Jabot. Now that Summer has the dirt she needs to take Sally down, might Theo come to her rescue? Or could he take Summer and Kyle’s side in all this?

Unfortunately, this appearance will be just for a few episodes, but while brief it at least continues to leave the door open for more possible returns in the future. Theo has roots and history in Genoa City and there are plenty of fans who would like to see the guy finally make good on his potential. Stay tuned to Y&R to see what drama he causes this time around!
