Y&R Alum Tammin Sursok Introduces Her Adorable New Puppy!
After losing her beloved cocker spaniel, Charlie, back in May, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Tammin Sursok (ex-Colleen) has a furry new family member in her house! The actress and her husband, Sam McEwen, recently adopted an adorable 10-week-old golden retriever! “Welcome to the family, Sadie Sursok,” she announced on social media. “Introducing you to my Instagram family. They will love you like we do.”
At one point in time, Sursok, her husband, and their two daughters, Phoenix and Lennon, had four dogs in their home. But when Charlie crossed over the rainbow bridge several months ago, it hit her family hard. “We were heartbroken,” she confessed. “Our family’s anxiety spiked, the kids were moody, and I had bouts of crying spells.”
Although Sursok and McEwen figured they’d eventually add another dog to the family, they’ve been quite busy over the past few months as the family was on the road with the girls being out of school for the summer. The couple, who split their time between their home in Nashville and their second residence in Sursok’s native Australia, were in Sydney visiting extended family and then took a trip with their daughters to Bali, Indonesia.
“I’m a big believer in the universe, God, whatever you call your higher power, leading the way. And recently, we were led to Sadie,” Sursok continued. “Two weeks ago, we got a call about a pup that hadn’t found a family yet and was getting bigger. We felt in our hearts she was ours. From the first second we saw her, we knew she had chosen to be part of our family.”
As Sursok explained in a series of Instagram Stories, after their trip to Bali, the family went back to Sydney before returning to the United States via Los Angeles. The girls then headed back to Nashville (presumably with their dad), while Sursok stayed behind in L.A. to shoot several episodes of her Women on Top podcast. By the time she arrived back home in Nashville on August 28, McEwen had the family’s new addition all settled in, having made the family’s laundry room Sadie’s new space!
“I’ve never seen my kids happier,” Sursok confessed. “We feel calm, connected, and are having so much fun. Get ready for some puppy spam because I won’t be able to help myself. Dogs really are a man’s best friend. We are so honored to have her in our lives.”
