Y&R's Cait Fairbanks Guests on Chicago Fire

Some daytime fans may have noticed a familiar face in primetime. Yes, that was THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Cait Fairbanks (Tessa) on CHICAGO FIRE! The actress appeared in the Jan. 18 episode of the NBC drama as Kayla.

In the episode, titled “How Does It End?,” Fairbanks’ character was first seen on a phone in a Tik Tok looking for the heroic firefighter who she met when her workplace caught fire. Blake, played by Alberto Rosende, thought it was him, so he contacted Kayla and they met up for a date. Things were going pretty well (especially when she revealed that her dad works for the Cubs!) until she returned the glove he left at the scene of the fire and he realized it wasn’t his. Awkward!

Fairbanks earned legions of fans when she first joined Y&R as Tessa Porter back in 2017, and viewers have watched as Tessa and Mariah’s budding romance led to true love and then marriage with the couple now planning to adopt a baby and start a family.

Before appearing on Y&R, Fairbanks appeared in episodes of CSI: NY, EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, TWO AND A HALF MEN, and THE MIDDLE. Since landing in Genoa City, the actress hasn’t moonlighted too much, appearing in an episode of DISCOVER INDIE FILM and THE GOLDBERGS. Though she has also kept pretty busy releasing music under the stage name Ginesse.
