Y&R’s Courtney Hope Explains Why She’s Taking a Break
Fans love following their favorite soap stars on social media to get a peek into their professional lives as well as their personal ones. The Young & The Restless star Courtney Hope (Sally) hasn’t been posting as much recently and hopped onto her Instagram Stories to address her followers directly with a personal video message.
“I am here because a lot of people have asked me where I’ve been on social media,” Hope explained. “I haven’t been posting as much and I’m here to address it. We each go through different seasons of our lives, and this season for me has been a lot about head down, nose to the grindstone working and really nourishing the relationships around me and with myself.
“I’ve been doing 15 minutes of social media a day,” she continued. “That’s it. It’s been wonderful. I’ve been diving more into my life and looking at who I need to be, what I want to be, what my life looks like for the next chapter, and how I can step up to that. So lots of work. Been super busy this last month. Next month is super busy. Lots of projects. Good stuff. So yeah, this season is my working season.”
In addition to focusing on her professional life, taking time away from social media has given Hope the opportunity to reconnect with friends and family as well as focus on herself. “So when I do have my off time, I’m focused on those that I love and also reestablishing connection with myself,” she said. “We’re constantly evolving and we need different things, and sometimes it’s easy to let those fall by the wayside because we are focused on all these other tasks or things you need to do or other people. So yeah, just calming my nervous system, giving myself the recovery that I need after working.”
As well as not posting on social media as much, the actress is also not scrolling through as many other posts, which she has found beneficial as well. “I found taking a step away from social media has been really great because I’m sure, as we all do, I have dreams and goals in lots of different areas and sometimes when I’m seeing people posting about those dreams and goals, I can find myself in comparison mode to their timetable and that doesn’t do me any good.”
Still, Hope remains on social media and in contact with her supportive Y&R fans. “I am here,” she declared. “I do see you. I do hear you. I love you all. I’m excited for the season where I’m posting, posting, posting, and sharing the good news.”
