Our thoughts are with THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Melissa Ordway (Abby), who has suffered a devastating loss in her family. The actress revealed that her beloved grandmother, Charlene O’Clair, passed away earlier this month.

The actress made the heartbreaking announcement on social media, sharing a lovely black-and-white photo of her grandmother and an adorable picture of O’Clair with her great-grandaughters: Ordway’s two girls, Olivia and Sophie. “It’s with great sadness we announce that my beautiful grandma, Mamae, Charlene O’Clair, went to heaven on February 1, 2024.”

In her sweet tribute to her Mamae, Ordway described O’Clair as one of a kind. “Incredibly beautiful, hilarious, and fun… there was no one like her,” wrote the Y&R star. At 91 (almost 92) years old, she was such a fast walker, it was almost impossible to keep up with her. She was the mother to eight children, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to so many more. I am so thankful that God let me be your granddaughter. And I’m beyond grateful my daughters got to have such an amazing great-grandma. They loved their Mamae.”

According to O’Clair’s obituary, she was very active in her church in Maine. In addition to the eight children Ordway mentioned, O’Clair had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren as well! “I know you’re happy in Heaven with Papa and Aunt Pam and all your loved ones,” the actress continued, “but we sure do miss you down here.”

Ordway also shared that her grandmother’s death came suddenly. “Please keep my family in your prayers as we mourn her unexpected passing,” she concluded. “Charlene, I’ll love you forever.”

Please join us in sending our condolences to Ordway and her family during this difficult time.
