Zuleyka Silver Celebrates Her First Y&R Anniversary!
Causing havoc in Genoa City since 2022! Actress Zuleyka Silver reached a soap opera milestone on Aug. 12: It was the first anniversary of her first day playing troublemaker Audra on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS! “It’s my one-year anniversary as Audra Charles!” Silver cheered on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Exactly one year ago today, I filmed my first episode.”
Silver posted a piece of the video audition she submitted to the Y&R casting department to mark the occasion. “Here’s a snippet of the self-tape that started it all!” she exclaimed.
The video Silver shared on X is a scene between Audra and Nate when the businesswoman confidently asks the former doctor to dance. She also shared two additional clips on other social media platforms, where her character’s trademark sass and attitude shine through when “Nate” confronts Audra the morning after they spent the night together. “That flew by!” Silver marveled at how fast the past year had gone. “I feel like I just got to Genoa City.”
Silver made her debut as Audra Charles on the Sept. 23, 2022, episode. When the newcomer introduced herself to Nate at Crimson Lights, he thought she was one of his old patients, but Audra explained that she’d been hired by Jill to help take Chancellor-Winters public. The next day, the two crossed paths again at Society, and Audra asked Nate to give her the behind-the-scenes intel on the company. Not too long after her arrival, it was revealed that Audra was the ex who had broken Noah’s heart while he was living in Europe, and she was secretly working with Tucker to take over Chancellor-Winters! And things have only gotten juicier since then, as she’s wormed her way into Newman Media and slept with Kyle!
On Instagram, Silver’s anniversary post was met with plenty of accolades from viewers of the soap — and even a colleague with whom she often butts heads on-screen! “The show is so lucky to have you!” gushed Susan Walters, whose Diane is not too happy that Audra has sunk her claws into Kyle. But in real life, there is nothing but respect between the two women. “Thank you, Susan!” Silver replied. “I love working with you.”
