Adam Huss Returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL!
Surprise! Nikolas has returned to GENERAL HOSPITAL, and Adam Huss is back in the role! “You all are so kind,” Huss posted on Twitter, hashtagging the “#ghfans” who were excited to see him again.
Huss made an unexpected appearance at the end of the Aug. 31 episode of the soap when viewers were stunned to see Nikolas doing a whole lot better than last we saw him! Austin arrived at a house to check in on a patient and ask how he was feeling. Drinking a beer, the smiling Cassadine prince declared, “I’m feeling great, thank you, Doc. It’s kind of you to ask!”
Back in March, the last viewers saw Nikolas, he was lying in a bed in a coma after Ava believed she’d killed him and his body had disappeared from the stables at Wyndemere. Of course, at the time, Austin was helping Ava cover up her crime, but it was recently revealed that the doctor was in on it with his cousin, Mason, and had helped secret Nikolas’ body away to hide at an undisclosed location.
Tyler Christopher originated the role of Nikolas Cassadine back in 1996, and the role has also been played by Coltin Scott, Chris Beetem, Nick Stabile, and Marcus Coloma over the years. Huss first appeared as Nikolas in September 2021 for an episode when Coloma was unavailable. And in November 2022, he once again stepped in when Coloma had COVID. When GH announced that Coloma was being let go from the soap, Huss took over in January 2023 to wrap up the storyline, last airing in March.
Of course, as soon as it was revealed that Ava had not killed Nikolas with that blow to the head as believed and he was still alive out there, fans have been eagerly awaiting his return to Port Charles. It was just a question of which actor would be playing him when he inevitably showed up again. Now that we’ve got that answer, the next question is… what’s he going to do when he sees Ava again?
