Michael Mealor’s Wedding Anniversary Trip to Japan — See The Pics!

On March 23, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Michael Mealor (Kyle) and his beautiful wife, Sasha, will mark their first anniversary as husband and wife. And the newlyweds got a jump-start on their celebrations with an early anniversary trip to Japan!

The Mealors visited Japan’s largest island, Honshu, on their trip, where they first went to the city of Kyoto before setting off for the country’s busy capital, Tokyo. Along the way, the couple created wonderful memories!

Mealor and his wife posted plenty of photos from their amazing anniversary trip on social media, and you can see some highlights by scrolling through the gallery below!

    Hiking to Fushimi Inari Taisha, a sacred Shinto shrine at Mount Inari, is one of Kyoto’s most popular tourist destinations, so the couple made sure to check that off of their vacation bucket list! The shrine is dedicated to Inari, the deity of good harvest and successful business.

    The Fushimi Inari Shrine is famous for its tunnel of a thousand vermillion red torri gates along Senbon Trail. It’s a custom in Japan for companies and individuals to donate a torri out of gratitude for a wish come true.

    Otagi Nenbutsu-Ji, a Buddhist Temple in Kyoto, has 1,200 carved stone figures of rakan, saintly people who have attained nirvana.

    Another popular tourist spot in Kyoto is Kinkaku-ji, the Temple of the Golden Pavilion.

    “It’s now one of our favorite cities in the world!” Sasha gushed of their time in Kyoto. “Food is exquisite. I’ll dream about it for the rest of my life!”

    “The sandal + toe sock combo absolutely annihilates me every time,” Sasha said, poking fun at her husband.

    The couple took the train from Koyto to Tokyo for the next leg of their trip.

    An adorable message greeted the Mealors when they arrived at the Four Seasons Hotel in Tokyo.

    The couple’s trip also coincided with Mealor’s birthday, Feb. 29!

    The ancient Buddhist temple Sensō-ji is Tokyo's oldest temple — it dates back to the year 645!

    Menchirashi is a udon noodle restaurant located in Tokyo’s trendy Harajuku neighborhood. “What pure joy looks like after waiting 40 minutes in the rain for the best udon of your life,” Sasha shared in an Instagram Story.
