AS THE WORLD TURNS Star Marnie Schulenburg Dead at 37
The daytime community was heartbroken today to learn that actress Marnie Schulenburg died on May 17, at the age of 37, just days before her 38th birthday. She had been battling breast cancer for the past two years.
Schulenberg is best known to soap fans for playing Alison Stewart on AS THE WORLD TURNS. After making her daytime debut in a crossover episode of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS in 2007, she played the role until ATWT’s final episode in September 2010. In 2010, she was also nominated for the Outstanding Younger Actress Daytime Emmy Award.
In 2013, Schulenburg played Jo Sullivan on the short-lived revival of ABC sudser ONE LIFE TO LIVE, and the following year, portrayed ambitious actress Peyton Adams on streaming soap TAINTED DREAMS. Her other credits included appearances on primetime series like ARMY WIVES, ROYAL PAINS, BLUE BLOOS, and THE GOOD FIGHT.
Schulenburg married longtime boyfriend Zack Robidas in 2013 and the couple welcomed their daughter, Coda Jones, in December 2019. Sadly, in May 2020, the actress and mother revealed that she had been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer just as the COVID pandemic was wreaking havoc across the globe. Friends and family set up a GoFundMe to defray her medical costs and Schulenburg kept her spirits high as she battled cancer while raising her family.
