Kyle Lowder Reveals His Exciting New Job!

Tags:

Last week, DAYS OF OUR LIVES alum Kyle Lowder (ex-Rex) announced that he had moved out of Los Angeles. Now the actor has shared that the reason he relocated “to the mountains and a really big lake” was to take on an exciting new job as an anchor with a Northern Nevada news program!

Lowder shared his career-changing news on Instagram, posting a picture of him dressed in a navy sportscoat and white button-down shirt, seated at a desk. Presumably, the photo was snapped in an office at television station KTVN 2 in Reno, Nevada, since Lowder has a pen in hand and is about to sign a contract!

“The ink is dry and it’s official,” Lowder wrote. “I couldn’t be happier to announce the next chapter/adventure in my life, both personally and professionally. Starting in July, I will be joining news leader and CBS affiliate KTVN Reno as their new morning co-anchor.”

Lowder is moving from soap operas to morning news.Instagram

Called 2 NEWS THIS MORNING, the morning news program on KTVN features life reports and breaking news, weather, and sports around Northern Nevada, including Reno and Lake Tahoe, which is located on the border of California and Nevada. According to Lowder’s LinkedIn profile, he now lives in that part of Nevada. “He is thrilled to be at home now in the Reno/Tahoe area with his family, and truly grateful to be a part of news leader KTVN,” reads the About section on his professional networking profile.

As Soaps In Depth deduced last week, Lowder had left Southern California and was likely headed north to the Lake Tahoe region, where his ex-wife, Arianne Zucker (Nicole, DAYS) lives with the couple’s daughter, Isabella, and fiancé Shawn Christian (ex-Daniel) when she’s not working on the soap. Lowder, who is also known to soap audiences for his run as THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL‘s Rick, certainly seems to be enjoying his new neighborhood, having shared some Instagram snaps of a lazy Sunday afternoon boating on Emerald Bay, a state park on the California side of Lake Tahoe.

We’re sure there will be plenty more Sunday afternoons like this one in Lowder’s future now that he’s living in the area. “Truly grateful and thrilled to be a part of the beautiful Reno-Tahoe community,” he concluded the post about his new job, promising to share more details at a later time. “Stay tuned…”

Please join us in congratulating Lowder on this exciting new career path! Hopefully, he will still be able to appear every now and then on DAYS in the future!
